Okay so here’s the deal.
When I was in high school I started getting interested in original creative writing — mostly short stories and poetry. I was particularly motivated to write lyrics for music, which is something I did on at least one occasion and had it turned into a recording (no, I did not provide the vocals).
Anyway, entering university, creative writing was one area I was interested in and so I enrolled in creative writing during my first year. The actual class was English 3101-1 with Dr. Uma Parameswaran at the University of Winnipeg. Dr. Parameswaran herself is an award winning writer and long since retired.
I actually learned quite a lot, most importantly the importance of building the habit of writing.
Life took me in a different direction, but writing is still an area I feel a pull towards and I’ve always promised myself I’ll get around to writing a proper novel one day, perhaps a short story collection, and maybe even some more poetry.
I haven’t done that yet, but I’ve at least started to dig up the stuff I’ve written and still kept.
Here’s where I’ll get around to posting all of the old stuff, along with some new stuff as well (I hope).
The Dream is Over
Stay of Amnesty
My Chalice is Empty
Dime a Dozen
Will You Pray
My Last Day
Angry Lion of Society
More original creative writing by Warren is coming, even if the thought frightens the heck out of you … honest 😉
